ABOUT Shannon South is handbag designer who runs her eponymous studio in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Shannon founded her company with the vision of environmental mindfulness and compassion. Striving to craft beautiful leather handbags by obsessing about their quality and durability, we use remnant luxury leather from the furniture industry and make all of our bags in NYC. We try not to be too inspired by trends, but instead we focus on simple, clean, classic design to create bags can be used every day and stand the test of time. Our bags transcend the vagaries of fashion and we hope they become heirlooms for our customers- something that they continue to use season after season. We believe the beauty and soul that's found in long-lasting, useful objects adds an important sense of history and stability to people’s lives. * Our bags have sold at Barneys NY and other stores around the US. We have shown at Capsule, Designers & Agents, at the NY International Gift Fair with The American Design Club and have also been part of The Green Shows presentation at Lincoln Center Fashion Week. We have been written up in Fast Company, LA Times, Style.com, Treehugger, and others. We also won Daily Candy's Sweetest Thing award in 2009.
